The good, the bad and the positivity

Hi! It has been a while since I updated a new post on my blog and Happy Late New Year!

To be honest I’ve been feeling sort of uninspired due to the coldness in PNW. *cough cough* (me as a summer girl.) Having the advantage of living in Seattle and only two hours away from BC and Portland, I decided to head down to Oregon for a short ‘end of the year’ trip (tax free is heavenly)! ❄️❄️

First thing I want to bring up is, I’m very impressed by Portland’s infrastructure. There are tons of industrial buildings around the city and a lot of them happened to be cool restaurants and bars. The place above instantly became one of my favorite bars!

The vibe in Victoria though! Needless to say, candle lights and that drink display decor wall won my heart. Staff was very friendly and their cocktails were so unique and refreshing. I ordered same drinks 3 times in a row…. you know what i mean 🍹🤣

Location wise it’s a quiet neighborhood area, so parking is not a problem. It also has an old time photo booth available inside the bar, don’t forget to capture moments! ❣️

I went into this minimalistic Tea Bar spot and bumped into this Insta famous golden baby!😍💋😍 He was soooo fluffy and friendly (kept licking me i know). I felt so bad that I had to leave my doggies in the car because they would go crazy mingling. Lol!

The decor in this cafe is so on point and they have amazing matcha latte🍵 If you love matcha as much as me, can’t miss this out!

I know, my cheeks are getting chubby in winter. All these fat and carbs are filling me in to withhold this winter. LOL. I still failed because I’m turning on two heaters in my home right now…😂🔥 transforming it into a sauna.

To have a little reflection right here. 2016 has been though a lot of ups and downs, including major changes in my life. I started my first ever lifestyle blog without a route; I graduated college and ended my 21 years of school life; I moved out from that lovely apartment with my bestie and began a new journey; Cars hated me (lol); Work permit was delayed etc.

Many more events and I gotta say.. life happens FOR you, not TO you. Despite a lot of things that could happen, which might drain and sucking the life outta you, It’s all about how you make meanings to these event. If bad things happen, alright take it as you could’ve handled it better or something better will happen for you in the future. Everyone have their stuff to deal with and only the strong ones could restrain and push through the boundaries, be genuinely HAPPY. It’s all about making positive meanings in your head. 😘🌻

💞I wish all of you starting off 2017 amazing and pretty as ever💞

Tie waist and Wrap for the autumn leaves

Stepping into the beginning of Autumn, everything seems beautiful and you can see the quiet seasonal transition by looking at the trees, especially when you drive by the neighborhood.

Green to light brown, when things have been building up through the summer and ready to go solid in the fall season. Sounds vague? Yes, a lot of events have been overwhelming for me and looking at the beautiful autumn leaves make me feel very peaceful and recharge my spirit. 🍂

This is I’m wearing a tie waist wrap dress which i purchased from GMarket. I love how it just embraces the femininity and made me feel so much of a lady when I was wearing it. It is a mature, classy yet causal style.

These tie up heels are gorgeous and very hard to walk around because they slide down every minute and you have to stop by somewhere to fix. Only do it for the photoshoot ! Yes 😚

So many cute floral shops down the street in Sinsadong! Flowers just make me happy whenever 🌻

The decor of this cafe (Mr. Holmes Bakehouse) is incredibly attractive! It is located in South Korea, Seoul, Gangnam-gu, Apgujeong-ro 10-gil, 34

Right now I’m writing this blog in an airbnb room in the middle of nowhere with strangers sharing the house. All of my beloved clothes has gone to storage since I’m on a ‘pre-moving situation’. I cannot wait to get back on my feet to establish more! 🐯

Who is excited to wear coats and long boots? Put your hands up and comment below. 😘

When causal meets wacky in Seoul

The most bizarre eyewear store down below…. !

Stepping into this Gentle Monster flagship store, you can already sense this is an unusual ambiance.. as crazy as the trick eye museum in Hongdae!

Just in case some of you haven’t heard of Gentle Monster, it’s a designer eyewear brand and it’s currently selling in a lot of places. They are famous for having bizarre decoration in their stores, SO HERE I AM! 😎

It was a rainy and chilly day so I decided to wear something causal. This fluffy chair is absolutely eye-catching! Along with the bright spot lights pointing directly to me. I was feeling like a celebrity for a while 😳

I am in love with the lighting in this spot! What a bossy seat. Agree? 😍  Apparently there is a line of people waiting to get photos in this specific spot too.

This place reminds me of a thriller/gangster movie scene. The Pulp Fiction vibe? Bright neon light background looks very intense. The first thing on my heard was: Why did I not wear something dramatic to blend in? 😱

Yes, I purposely took this photo under this lighting just to look frightening so I could change my image for a bit. Haha! Have anyone of you been to Gentle Monster store other than Apujeong location? Please comment below to let me know your experience! 👅

Gamcheon Cultural Village

A village born in poverty but doesn’t lose its colour.

It is filled with history, memories and artists work. The Gamcheon Cultural Village got me staying there for a half day, exploring the magical small alleys, with painted walls and hidden art studios.

This is known as the poorest village in Busan and government made it into a tourist spot with local artists. There are still a lot of residents living in those households which means travellers would have a high chance of bumping into someone’s back door. 👀

One funny fact is, I also saw a ‘Airbnb’ sign within the village, so there are travellers actually staying INSIDE one of the houses to experience a real Busan resident’s life.

I chose to wear a rather colourful and cultural style blouse to match today’s theme. Made and designed in Korea, I reckon it’s an independent fashion label.

The alley is full of hand painted walls and selling hand crafted products by local artists. Doesn’t it feel like you suddenly jumped into Alice Wonderland? Wish Johnny Depp would pop up from that tiny door. 😝

A wall for lovers all over the world to wait in line and take a photo with their special.

Anytime is a good time for some ice cream 😋

Something about this elephant caught my eyes. Maybe it was the colourful wall..? (blogger’s symptom)

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

You could say it is creative, creepy, funny.. ALL IN ONE. It gave me a heart attack at first sight. 👖 Definitely would not consider doing this in my backyard or balcony 😉

I do recommend people who travel to Busan to add this village into their list because you will have a lot of fun exploring art around every corner and take cute photos! 💕

Rainy Busan

Samgyupsal and soju jusaeyo?

Known that I travel to Seoul almost every summer for shopping and food, this is my first time to Busan! Never took a train and felt the costal area in Korea, this was an very interesting experience. The people in this city actually sleep.. compare to Seoul where a lot of food places are 24 hours and stay crowded! Subway and streets were less packed so for a person who loves personal space, It is much more comfortable to walk around.

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

This place is called Haeundae, the most popular beach in Busan, and the sunset was breathtaking. Surrounded by a lot of sashimi /seafood restaurants with great views!

Processed with VSCO with hb2 preset

Spotted a rainbow in this unstable weather, gloomy and emotional atmosphere in Haeundae. I’ve also noticed people in Busan look so much tanner than people in Seoul, they must be out in the sun all the time here. ✌️  Meat and intestine are also a big thing in Busan, almost every restaurants I passed by were either beef, samgyupsal (pork belly) or intestine places.

Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Yes, samgyupsal is definitely irresistible.. 🍶  I walked into this BBQ place since this was the places with constant line of people waiting! Yes I do trust the hype for food. The staff there was very polite and efficient, also put on a FIRE show! ahah! I love how the pan was giant enough to put a lot of veggies and fish, esp. grilled kimchi on the side.

Daytime wandering in streets of Busan. I was wearing a bell sleeve floral dress from Chuu (it’s a hot brand from S.Korea right now), their design is so gorgeous and got me excited every time for new arrivals. You can get this brand from Yesstyle, kooding or somethin’ sweet.
