恭喜发财-Year of Rooster🐔

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! 恭喜发财 to the year of Rooster🐔 This is literally my first time in 5 years to spend some CNY with my fambam in this this very time of the year… and I just found out I’m 犯太岁 this year (I’m a 🐶) You’ll know what I’m talking about if you’re Chinese enough lol! 😂

I’m currently in Hong Kong right now and can totally feel the hype of CNY in every corner. I would have gone to the night market everybody is raving about but nah😆 TOO CROWDED!

This photoshoot was taken at Preserve & Gather, a superrr cute cafe in Seattle. It was very sunny and it just made me happy. Decor of this cafe is so on point, I instantly fell in love with this blue glitter wall.

Do I look like an artist in this outfit? hehe😜 Floral print blouse is still going to be a big thing in 2017! So it’s time to grab your mom’s old clothes or shop around thrift stores if you’re looking for more economical options and eco-friendly LOL 🤗

This is my first time adding a wool beret into my outfit! I used to think it won’t fit me but it became a game changer 😙 super unexpected!

So much daylight.. soaking in that vitamin D!

I have a thing for looking at old photos. Can not be explained but it makes me feel curious and fulfilled at the same time, it’s weird, but I like it. Whether it’s people I don’t know or my photos with family, It’s always interesting to look at.

Looking back at my old photos with my parents, grandparents, cousins etc… It really amazed me how time flies THIS fast. They all grew much older and full of grey hair these days. 😢 Ladies&Gen, please do whatever you can to make them proud! They’ve spend all their lives taking care of and worrying about you even when you’re not aware of it. I’m very grateful I have such loving grandparents and parents to be there for me. It’s your turn now 💪🏻💪🏻

On the bright side, I can spend a little more time with them this CNY 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

I wish everyone good health, good fortune and even more gorgeous this year! 💜

The good, the bad and the positivity

Hi! It has been a while since I updated a new post on my blog and Happy Late New Year!

To be honest I’ve been feeling sort of uninspired due to the coldness in PNW. *cough cough* (me as a summer girl.) Having the advantage of living in Seattle and only two hours away from BC and Portland, I decided to head down to Oregon for a short ‘end of the year’ trip (tax free is heavenly)! ❄️❄️

First thing I want to bring up is, I’m very impressed by Portland’s infrastructure. There are tons of industrial buildings around the city and a lot of them happened to be cool restaurants and bars. The place above instantly became one of my favorite bars!

The vibe in Victoria though! Needless to say, candle lights and that drink display decor wall won my heart. Staff was very friendly and their cocktails were so unique and refreshing. I ordered same drinks 3 times in a row…. you know what i mean 🍹🤣

Location wise it’s a quiet neighborhood area, so parking is not a problem. It also has an old time photo booth available inside the bar, don’t forget to capture moments! ❣️

I went into this minimalistic Tea Bar spot and bumped into this Insta famous golden baby!😍💋😍 He was soooo fluffy and friendly (kept licking me i know). I felt so bad that I had to leave my doggies in the car because they would go crazy mingling. Lol!

werkin that bum bum🍑

The decor in this cafe is so on point and they have amazing matcha latte🍵 If you love matcha as much as me, can’t miss this out!

I know, my cheeks are getting chubby in winter. All these fat and carbs are filling me in to withhold this winter. LOL. I still failed because I’m turning on two heaters in my home right now…😂🔥 transforming it into a sauna.

To have a little reflection right here. 2016 has been though a lot of ups and downs, including major changes in my life. I started my first ever lifestyle blog without a route; I graduated college and ended my 21 years of school life; I moved out from that lovely apartment with my bestie and began a new journey; Cars hated me (lol); Work permit was delayed etc.

Many more events and I gotta say.. life happens FOR you, not TO you. Despite a lot of things that could happen, which might drain and sucking the life outta you, It’s all about how you make meanings to these event. If bad things happen, alright take it as you could’ve handled it better or something better will happen for you in the future. Everyone have their stuff to deal with and only the strong ones could restrain and push through the boundaries, be genuinely HAPPY. It’s all about making positive meanings in your head. 😘🌻

💞I wish all of you starting off 2017 amazing and pretty as ever💞

Saint Helen’s vibe matches mine

Happy Blackfriday ladies and gen! I hope all of you had a wondering gathering dinner with fam and caught some great deals shopping. For me, big sale doesn’t excite me as much as before because when you want that thing so much, you’ll buy it no matter what price.. right? 😎 #moneyspender #bigsaleisstillcool

Last weekend I paid a visit to Saint Helen’s Cafe near UW Village, I have been longing to try this cute cafe out for a long time! 😉 It’s surprising that I used to hang out at UW Village all the time and never noticed this place… it was right across the village. Weather was pretty bad so I forgot to take a picture at the outside hehe.

Inside this place everything was on point. Especially the velvet seat, I’m absolutely in love, it just POPPED UP!

I was taking a good old 10 mins just to take a perfect picture on the table LOL. I believe a lot of you could relate to this, my friend sitting across me was crossing her arms the whole time …so impatient 😂

This cheese plate definitely deserves a close up shot. See how beautiful it looks? The jam, the apricot, the cheese…. Everything combined as a perfect picture. 😋 And of course, this tasted so good too. Blue cheese always has my heart.

This little marble table on the side tho. Server knew I was going non-stop photo shooting.. so she gave me this beautiful marble side table to put my camera on the big table. How accommodating ? 💋 Should I get this for my room?

Me as a happy foodie right there having my favorite garlic fries. 😁🍟

The entrance way was also very captivating. I love every furnitures in here. So modern and elegant…  😻

I recommend this cute cafe to anyone who loves having a nice conversation with friends, along with drinks and chill ambiance for sure.

Restaurant review: Suika Seattle

I heard about this japanese izakaya/tapas place a long time ago and came across it on Yelp again with a 4.5 star rating, so i decided to give it a try and see if it’s THAT good.

This is the most popular dish from this restaurant! Uni shot! I have never tried uni before because i heard it has very extreme taste.. so i did not have the guts to try it! This uni shot tasted like fresh sashimi to me, there are seaweed, salmon roe, vinegar, raw egg, something something and uni! Haha! Not bad i enjoyed this and it only costs $6 each shot during happy hour.

This is tuna tataki. 10 out of 10! DROOLING ALL OVER.. I do not know what exactly did they add to the sauce but it is absolutely delicious and worth trying. I went crazy on this dish because of the sauce 🙂

Apart from tuna tataki, I also ordered tuna & avocado salad and kimchi & mentaiko udon. Tuna avocado salad was also yummy because of their SAUCE. Something about the freshness of their sauce is soooo addicting! Believe me. For the kimchi mentaiki udon, it was not as good as i expected, the taste was mild and i was looking forward to two extreme taste mixing together. So it was a 7 out of 10 to me while the texture of udon added back one point. Hehe

Very cool interior and this is their signature wine bottles decoration! I love how it gives off a mysterious, industrial and modern feeling. None the less, it’s worthy to give it a try as a japanese fusion restaurant down in Capital Hill area.
