23 things I’ve learned at 23!

As everybody says, after you passed 21st birthday, the rest doesn’t matter. It’s real. πŸ˜‚Β I remember when I take birthdays seriously when I was younger, ‘I have to dine in a nice restaurant, what gifts am I getting, who am I celebrating with’ all that kinda stuff. This year I moved cross-country from WA to TX, without any family and friends in a new city and more life events are coming… will share on the blog as time gets closer. Adulthood is hitting me and I believe in good things don’t come easy, so here are 23 things I realized at 23.

  1. You can never rush things, I used to believe I could take a shortcut. No, there’s not, you have to take the stairs.
  2. Have good patience, like above.
  3. Don’t be afraid to be proactive, e.g. new friends, potential clients, collaborations.
  4. It’s okay to be socially awkward. Doesn’t matter, if the vibe matches, you’ll meet people.
  5. It’s not all about you.
  6. Give more, you’ll receive later.
  7. Learn to think from other people’s perspective, then you’ll feel at peace (or close to).
  8. Let things go, look forward.
  9. There’s no need to show off when your heart is full.
  10. Rejection is totally okay, you’re just getting closer to a yes.
  11. Whenever you think you couldn’t get through something, think about last time you felt the same and how you did it.
  12. You’ll never be dead bored when you enjoy life.
  13. Find a lot of hobbies, spend time doing them yourself or w/people you like.
  14. Be confident! Find something that you like about yourself πŸ™‚
  15. Don’t compare to others, we are in our own lane and own journey.
  16. Be open-minded, you never know the stories behind.
  17. Read books! You’ll see the universe differently.
  18. Be authentic, don’t care too much about what others think of you.
  19. Go travel more, make small trips as frequent as you can!
  20. Don’t be obsessed with social media, it doesn’t 100% represent you.
  21. Every 10 mins, remind yourself to distance yourself from the phone.
  22. Relax, nobody’s perfect!
  23. Last but not least, SHOW YOUR LOVE AND AFFECTION to the people you adore before it’s too late.
